<p>Nicola "Nick" DiPaolo passed away peacefully on September 15, 2022 at the age of 78. Nicola was born on July 16, 1944 in Cansano, Italy to the late Cesare and Angela DiPaolo. </p><p><br></p><p>At the age of 10, Nick immigrated to the United States from Italy and grew up in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Flanders 49 years ago. </p><p><br></p><p>Nick was an avid sports fan, and especially loved rooting for the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and New York Rangers. He also enjoyed gambling, playing cards, and family poker nights. Nick's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and playing with his best buddy, his French Bulldog Tarkin.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his adoring wife of 57 years Marie (née Servedio) DiPaolo, three children, Annette, Michele, and Nicholas, and by his two grandsons, Andy and Lucas. He is also survived by his sisters, Perpetua and Elena. He was predeceased by his sister, Nila and brother, Germano. </p><p><br></p><p>Nick's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Tuesday September 20, 2022 from 4pm – 8pm at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090, 15 Furnace Rd. (corner of Rt. 206) Chester, NJ 07930. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday September 21, 2022 at 11:30am at St. Luke Parish in Long Valley, NJ. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.</p>
